FAQ

Won’t voting for RP allow the DA back into power?

Absolutely not.

Our target is to get the DA to 48%, whilst the ANC will be on about 20%, so there is no way the ANC can get back into power, even with the support of other parties.

To give voters extra assurance, RP has formally promised to vote against the ANC and with the DA to allow it to form a government. Voting RP will therefore cannot and will not result in an ANC government in the Western Cape.

Why 100k votes?

This is the number of votes that polling
shows will bring the DA to 48% in the
Western Cape. They will need the support
of either ourselves or the Freedom Front Plus
to form a government. Both parties have agreed
to demand a referendum on Cape Independence

Won’t the DA just ignore you again?

If we hold the balance of political power in the Western Cape we will be almost impossible to ignore. Cape Independence is extremely popular with DA voters. The DA would need to work with its political enemies to defeat the democratic will of its own voters. This would be political suicide.

The DA are not ideologically opposed to Cape Independence and it was John Steenhuisen who promised the referendum. Alan Winde is the person who keeps blocking a referendum. He has said he will resign if the DA falls below 50%.
