South Africa is the Biggest Hypocrite of All on International Law, says RP

The Referendum Party is flabbergasted at the outrageous hypocrisy of DIRCO to lecture other states on their selective application of International Law when South Africa has made itself the poster child for double standards.

For example, international law explicitly states that all people have an unquestionable and undeniable right to self-determination.

South Africa actively supports this right for Palestinians, Western Saharans, and the South Sudanese, whilst opposing it for the Taiwanese, Uyghurs, Hong Kong, Tibet, Israel, the Western Cape, and in practice, Afrikaners. It has also failed to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

It is just as hypocritical when it comes to the international courts. It is pursuing Israel through the ICJ, whilst it has ignored warrants issued by the ICC actively assisting Putin and Al Bashir to evade the law, and it counts serial human rights abusers like Zimbabwe, China, Russia, and Iran amongst its closest allies.

The Bible says you should take the log out of your own eye before you focus on the speck in someone else's. ANC-led South Africa should take heed.

Suid-Afrika is die Grootste Skynheilige van Almal oor Internasionale Reg, sê die Referendum Party

Die Referendum Party is stomgeslaan oor die ongelooflike skynheiligheid van DIRCO (Departement van Internasionale Betrekkinge en Samewerking) om ander lande te berispe oor hul selektiewe toepassing van internasionale reg, terwyl Suid-Afrika self die voorloper van dubbele standaarde geword het.

Internasionale reg stel byvoorbeeld duidelik dat alle mense ’n onbetwisbare en ononderhandelbare reg op selfbeskikking het.

Suid-Afrika steun hierdie reg aktief vir die Palestyne, Wes-Saharaners en die Suid-Soedane, maar is teen selfbeskikking vir die Taiwanese, Oeigoere, Hong Kong, Tibet, Israel, die Wes-Kaap en, in praktyk, vir Afrikaners. Suid-Afrika het ook nagelaat om Rusland se inval in Oekraïne te veroordeel.

Dieselfde skynheiligheid geld ten opsigte van internasionale howe. Suid-Afrika dryf ’n saak teen Israel by die Internasionale Geregshof (IGH), maar het terselfdertyd lasbriewe van die Internasionale Strafhof (ISH) geïgnoreer en selfs gehelp dat figure soos Poetin en Al Bashir die gereg ontduik. Intussen hou Suid-Afrika steeds noue bande met lande wat bekend is vir menseregteskendings, soos Zimbabwe, China, Rusland en Iran.

Die Bybel sê jy moet eers die balk uit jou eie oog haal voordat jy die splinter in iemand anders s’n raaksien. Die ANC-bewind in Suid-Afrika sal goed doen om dit ter harte te neem.
